Every human being originally has a loving heart, and a righteous and harmonious mind. Therefore, thoughts and actions that are contrary to such a mind are detestable to them. Such is the Hon-shin* or the true mind of the entire humankind. And when something goes largely against this true mind, people feel hatred and resentment.
Note:
Hon-shin: The true mind, literally translated, is the divine self of a person, or real you, that comes from the Divine world.
Therefore, the mind that hates and resents evil and injustice is a natural mind. However, the very thought of hatred and resentment is contrary to the bright thinking and the mind of the Prayer for World Peace.
This analogy may be a little mismatched, but suppose you hear a violin being played and if the tone, pitch, or rhythm of the playing are very poor, it makes you feel unpleasant and uncomfortable. This means that the violin is playing a sound that is far from a musical tone, and anyone would dislike listening to such a sound. A person with a superior sense of music must feel even more uncomfortable.
The human mind is by nature harmonious. Therefore, when people are exposed to disharmonious thoughts or actions, they feel disgusted. If a person keeps this feeling of disgust and hatred of evil and injustice, he or she will be trapped in a wave of Gō-sōnen*, or karmic thoughts. This means that he or she is doing things that are contrary to his or her original bright and harmonious mind.
Note:
Gō-sōnen: Karmic thoughts which came to exist when we defined ourselves as physical entities. They have been accumulated in the subconscious realm of humans from the past lives up to the present. Please refer to ‘Goi Sensei’s Prayer for World Peace with Kieteyuku Sugata’ at the end of this file.
If this is the case, while denying evil and injustice, the person is causing wrong thoughts of hatred and resentment that are contrary to his or her Hon-shin, or true mind. Even though the thickness of the layers of errounious thought may differ, the person is still a person who has not escaped from the karmic self.
The Prayer for World Peace does not overlook evil and injustice as they are. While praying the prayer, the mind that clearly distinguishes between good and evil, right and injustice, will become firmer before you know it. And from that firm foundation, your thoughts and actions will come out as manifestation of the Divine Will.
Talking about good and evil, just and injustice in this world, some things are very clear, but in reality, many things are not so evident. Killing innocent children, murder for greed, or bribery to mislead the nation are clearly evil, and we cannot hate them enough, which is a natural human emotion. However, if you allow these natural feelings to harbor as they are, they will not only confront the others but also disturb your own peace of mind and bring you into disharmony with yourself. In other words, if you hold anger or hatred for whatever reason, you are hurting yourself, and this is not the mind of the Prayer for Peace, or the bright mind.
Therefore, from the standpoint of the Prayer for World Peace, I recommend throwing even such very natural emotions into the Prayer as Kieteyuku Sugata*. If you completely cast the natural feelings of blaming an evil person, thinking, “He is such a bad, hateful, terrible person,” into the words of truth and prayer: “May Peace Prevail on Earth as soon as possible,” as part of Kieteyuku Sugata, the process of fading away, of the karma of all humankind, the evil and unjust acts that appear will decrease the karma in the world of humankind as much as they appear.
Note:
Kieteyuku Sugata: The process of fading away, literally translated, which is the essential view in the practice of praying the Prayer for World Peace. Please refer to ‘Goi Sensei’s Prayer for World Peace with Kieteyuku Sugata’ at the end of this article.
The reason is that the Prayer for World Peace is the prayer by which you enter the Great Light of Salvation, and the karmic acts that appear vanish in that Great Light and do not return to the Gō-shō* of the world of humanity again.
Note:
Gō-shō: Karmic existence, a mixture of good and bad.
I am not saying that you should not hate and resent evil and injustice.
Such a sense of justice is very important and can be a great ability to purify the human race. But it is important that people not allow themselves to take in such hatred and resentment. Instead, they should ask their guardian spirits and guardian deities to take such emotion into the Great Divine Light in the Prayer for World Peace as an elevator of Light. If you do so, the vibrations of Gō-sōnen, or karmic thoughts, of humankind will decrease that much.
While we hate the evil and injustice of others, sometimes we do evil and injustice ourselves which are not so different from them. Some people may feel as if they have been shown what is inside of themselves, and they hate and resent even more. A famous saying of Christ is, “Let the one among you who is without sin cast the first stone.” Few people are pure enough to condemn and judge others. Sometimes we hate and resent out of a sence of justice, but in truth we are hating and resenting our own thoughts inside us.
Therefore, I advocate that you cast all such emotional thoughts into the Prayer for World Peace, and to deal with the affairs with the calm actions that naturally come out of your praying heart.
Goi Sensei’s Prayer for World Peace with Kieteyuku Sugata*:
Everything that takes shape in the form of sickness, poverty, flash of worry or anger, and so on, is a manifestation of karma (thoughts, words, and actions from a past consciousness), appearing at the moment when it is supposed to vanish.
Therefore, when they arise in your life, Goi Sensei does not recommend that you search for the hidden causes behind them by digging up the mistaken attitudes that you may have held in the past. Instead, he recommends thinking that all these suffering and wrong thoughts are occurring in the process of fading away, Kieteyuku Sugata, and that they will absolutely vanish into nothingness if you throw them into the Prayer for World Peace with gratitude to your Guardian Spirits and Guardian Deities. He recommends you keep practicing this simple-mindedly at any moment day and night.
Then, once your Gō-sōnen* has entirely disappeared, you will know that you are one with your Guardian Spirits and Guardian deities, and your Hon-shin* will shine through and a truly wonderful world will take shape around you.
